Brain Health Breakthrough CIC are expert-by-experience, community-led organisation that has been supporting people living with chronic illness for over five years. ( Long Covid, ME/CFS brain injury and Chronic Fatuige and other long term illness)
We are delighted to be collaborating with Pendle Plant Craft to deliver a series of inclusive wellbeing sessions based at their beautiful site.
My motivation for this work is deeply personal. I would have loved to join some of Pete Compo foraging walks and events myself, but living with fluctuating chronic fatigue means I’m unable to walk far, stand for long periods, or tolerate too much noise, light, or busy environments.
As a result, I’ve often chosen social isolation to protect my wellbeing. Yet I am a huge lover of nature, plants, and the deep healing benefits they offer. I believe everyone deserves the chance to experience this kind of connection — in a way that is gentle, accessible, and thoughtfully designed for people with similar challenges.
These sessions have been created especially for people living with chronic illness, fatigue, sensory sensitivity, or fluctuating energy levels — If this is you or you know a family members or loved ones who may share these struggles.
We are running a drop-in session next Wednesday 14th Jan, 1pm–3pm, followed by fully funded regular monthly sessions on Thursdays, 12pm–3pm. Starting Februray 12th

🗣️ One community member shares:
“Long Covid can change life so dramatically. It can leave you grieving for the active part of yourself — the version of you that could exercise, enjoy holidays, and socialise without chronic fatigue. Life doesn’t get any easier, and the losses are often invisible to others.
Our group has created a safe space — a place where the tears we usually keep inside are allowed to flow. A place where honesty is welcomed, and nothing needs to be sugar-coated. We say it how it is. And often, after the tears and the grief, come shared laughter and holding on to the small, joyous moments that still matter.”
