💚 New Inclusive Wellbeing Sessions in South Ribble 💚
Brain Health Breakthrough CIC is a community-led organisation founded by experts-by-experience that has been dedicated to chronic illness support for over five years.
We collaborate closely with individuals affected by Long COVID, ME/CFS, brain injury, chronic fatigue, and other long-term health conditions, providing vital peer support, engaging wellbeing sessions, and opportunities for connection and belonging.
We are thrilled to partner with South Ribble Borough Council to offer a series of inclusive wellbeing nature sessions located in and around Bamber Bridge.
These sessions are designed specifically for individuals living with:
💚 Chronic illness
💚 Long COVID and ME/CFS
💚 Brain injury and chronic fatigue
💚 Sensory sensitivities
💚 Fluctuating energy levels
💚 Social isolation and loneliness
Whether you face these challenges directly or are a family member, carer, or loved one supporting someone who does, you are warmly invited to join us.

Brain Health Breakthrough CIC is a community-led organization with expertise from lived experience, dedicated to providing chronic illness support for individuals living with challenges such as Long Covid, ME/CFS, brain injuries, and chronic fatigue. For over five years, we have been supporting those with long-term illnesses.
We are excited to collaborate with Pendle Plant Craft to offer a series of inclusive wellbeing sessions at their beautiful venue.
My motivation for this initiative is deeply personal. I often wished to join Pete Compo's foraging walks and events, but managing fluctuating chronic fatigue makes it difficult for me to walk far, stand for long periods, or tolerate excess noise, light, or busy environments.
As a result, I have frequently opted for social isolation to safeguard my wellbeing. However, I have a profound appreciation for nature, plants, and the incredible healing benefits they provide. I firmly believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to connect with nature, especially those facing similar challenges — in a manner that is accessible, gentle, and thoughtfully designed.
These wellbeing sessions have been specifically created for individuals living with chronic illness, fatigue, sensory sensitivity, or fluctuating energy levels. If you or a loved one experiences these struggles, we invite you to join us.
We will hold a drop-in session next Wednesday, January 14th, from 1pm to 3pm, followed by fully funded regular monthly sessions on Thursdays from 12pm to 3pm, starting February 12th.
If you would like to join our mailing list for updates about these community projects and wellbeing sessions, please email me — we would love to welcome you. More details can be found on the poster.

🗣️ One community member shares:
“Long Covid can change life so dramatically. It can leave you grieving for the active part of yourself — the version of you that could exercise, enjoy holidays, and socialize without chronic fatigue. Life doesn’t get any easier, and the losses are often invisible to others. Our group has created a safe space — a place where the tears we usually keep inside are allowed to flow. A place where honesty is welcomed, and nothing needs to be sugar-coated. We say it how it is. And often, after the tears and the grief, come shared laughter and holding on to the small, joyous moments that still matter.”

By request from our community, we organized a Wellbeing in the Woods session this year as part of our ongoing community projects aimed at supporting those facing chronic illness. This event offered a wonderful opportunity for people to connect with nature, enhance their wellbeing, and enjoy time together in a calm, restorative environment.
🕐 Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
🎨 Activities
We’ve planned a relaxed and creative afternoon filled with nature-inspired activities for you to enjoy at your own pace:
🌈 God’s Eyes – A colourful, mindful weaving craft (see attached photo)
🪵 Stick Whittling – Connect with nature through simple wood carving
🧶 Nordic Braiding – A calming handcraft (you can check out a video of Stacey and me doing this on our Instagram, or find tutorials online)
🌿 Hammocks – Take a break and relax among the trees
There’s something for everyone, whether you want to get hands-on or simply bask in the peaceful woodland setting.
🍽️ Food & Drinks:
We’ll be serving a warm and welcoming selection of refreshments, including:
☕ Tea, coffee, herbal teas, and hot chocolate
🍕 Pizza wraps, freshly cooked over the fire — gluten-free wraps will also be available. Your donation helps support our organization's mission to positively impact the community, particularly in providing chronic illness support. We truly appreciate your generosity and support!
