Pegasus Project

Collaboration

A collaboration between Brain Health Breakthrough CIC and Spring Vale Farm. We have come together in this pilot project, sharing the same values, to find an innovative solution offering young people/children participation led opportunities to gain transferable skills, through discovering empathy with horses, that will impact their mental health & well-being and their wider community.

Through Equine Facilitated learning ( EFL ) with 4 rescued, neglected horses, who have already been trained to gain trust and confidence prior to EFL. We have experience working with horses and vulnerable groups. Activities in the session will be decided by the participant and may include: standing or sitting with the horse, physical touch, breath work, grooming, observing body language, herd watching, leading (with/ without a halter and rope), problem solving challenges with the horse, liberty work, resolving anxiety in the horse, using music, dancing with the horse, clicker training, Cat-H training, learning about operant conditioning.
